These Hardware Depot 12g x 65mm roofing screws are designed for external use and built tough to withstand the Aussie elements. The Zinc Yellow Passivate finish provides a good level of corrosion resistance, giving you peace of mind that your roof will stay secure for longer. Made from Hardened Steel, they offer the strength needed for penetrating roofing materials and timber battens. The Type 17 (Slash Point) ensures a clean and fast start, reducing the risk of splitting the timber, while the 12g gauge (approx 5.5mm) provides ample holding power.
The Hex Flange Head provides a large bearing surface, distributing the load evenly and preventing pull-through. This also allows for easy and secure driving with a standard 5/16" nutsetter (external hex). These screws feature 11 threads per inch to maximize holding power. Each pack contains 500 screws, giving you plenty to work with for your roofing project. They are a generic brand, and these roofing screws have a screw coating of Not Painted.
When installing these screws, apply consistent pressure with your drill and nutsetter. Avoid over-tightening, as this can damage the screw and compromise the seal. Pre-drilling pilot holes in particularly hard timbers will help ensure a clean, straight drive.
